Desiree “The Warrior” Bartels Numanga – Her Cancer Fighting Quest

Our family received the devastating news the weekend of Labor Day 2015… Breast Cancer. My younger sister, Desiree Aimee-Lynn Bartels Numanga, was in the hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii and was just given this diagnosis. What could I do? I felt helpless. It had not been even a year since we lost our loving Mother, Patricia Lee Perry Bartels, to metastatic colorectal cancer, and now this. I had to be there for her. I was on the plane the next morning and by her side the next afternoon, along with my baby sister and my brother n’ law.  The remaining diagnosis to be given rocked us all to our inner core. Metastatic  Inflammatory Breast Cancer/Triple Negative (spread to her brain, lympfh nodes, and lungs).

Desiree, is that loving “Middle Sister”, she is strong, talented, truthful, honest, generous, kind, loving, and just a blessing to our Ohana. She is a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a grand-child, a niece, a teacher, a friend, a cousin, a mentor.  She is the Captain of her family… always doing for others. She is a Tiny Tots Teacher; enriching the lives of tiny growing minds, with imagination and creativity. She is a Hula Teacher; spreading the Aloha of the dance of Hula to so many students. She is the Wife, the Mother; waking up before dawn, for her husband and her children. She is the Daughter, who is always there to take her dad to his doctor appointments, to remind him to take his medicine. She is the Sister, the friend; always there with a listening ear and an open heart.

Now she is fighting this Breast Cancer Fight. It’s a difficult fight, but, she is a “Warrior”. Her type of Cancer is “Aggressive”, “Angry” and Triple Negative, which is not combatitve to any Hormone Therapy. She is told Chemotherapy needs to begin immediately. She has begun the chemotherapy, but, she has also begun “juicing” organicially and essential oils and other natural/organic regimens. Her family and friends and traveled to be by her side, to give her encouragement and strength. Family and friends are there to help her with her “Captain” duties so that she can build up her strenth and immune system, build up her Body of healing.

Please help and donate to her fund for treatment and non-covered hospitilization costs; so that family and friends may continue to travel from San Diego to Honolulu to help her to keep her “Ship” sailing; to help her to continue to juice organically and also to help in the discovery of alternative healing. We also ask for the continued Prayers of Strength, Prayers of Healing, and Prayers of a Cure and Elimination of her Cancer. We thank you with Love and Aloha and such a sincere God Bless You!
