Hi everyone, my name is Rose. I live in the UK but I was born and raised in St Elizabeth, Jamaica where many of my family and friends still live.
As many of you are aware Hurricane Melissa has caused catastrophic damage across the island which has had a life changing effect on the people of Jamaica. Homes have been destroyed, streets are flooded, and there are many people who now face the difficulty of accessing basic necessities. I am completely heartbroken at the pain and loss Hurricane Melissa has inflicted on Jamaica and although I know the people of Jamaica are strong, resilient and powerful they need our help.
I feel completely helpless being so far away from home but I know my country needs me and St Elizabeth needs me and in order for me to help them I need your help. I have created this fundraiser because I know that if we come together we can help Jamaica to unite and rebuild. Every donation will go directly towards:
* Sending barrels and boxes containing basic essentials such as food, clothes, toiletries etc
* Fixing and rebuilding homes by supplying zinc, ply board, nails etc
If you are unable to donate financially but you would like to donate in different ways please contact me via Facebook (Rose-Marie Campbell) to donate items such as
* Tin food (no less than 3 months expiry date)
* Clothes (men, women, children and babies. New and old in good condition)
* Toiletries, nappies, wipes
* Power banks, torch’s
Jamaica has given the world so much and now it is time for the world to give back to Jamaica. Now is the time to help those who have lost so much. No donation is too small and will be greatly appreciated.
