Help Marcel from the Dry Cleaners

"How you live your life, and care for community, is what matters," Marcel Bailly, speaking at Takoma Park City Council.

Marcel is a beloved member of our Takoma community,  working at Carriage House Cleaners in Takoma Junction for the past 23 years.

Now, he is in the hospital, recovering from emergency abdominal surgery,. He cannot return to work yet, and bills are due. Marcel is from the Ivory Coast, lives alone, and has been working towards US citizenship. He needs our financial support now. (You can also drop cards or drawings for him at the cleaners).

At Takoma Park City Council last year, Marcel said, "Many of you are my customers--we are growing older and wiser together. I am part of the Takoma community too--I have served this community for two decades, to make sure you look nice and proper each day."

If Marcel has ever brightened your day, if he has been a friendly presence in your weekly routine, if you enjoy chatting in French or debating world politics with him, please donate to support Marcel through this medical crisis. Let him know  that we value him as a community member, as he values us.

Thank you!
