Mason Strong

The Hammer family has lived any parents worst fear the last twenty four hours! Their fun loving 10 year old Mason went to bed a healthy, normal kid…Waking up in the middle of the night with a headache, slurred and jumbled speech. They quickly rushed him to a local ER where things quickly escalated. He was immediately transferred to a specialty hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured vessel due to an AVM.

Mason has defied the odds of an AVM rupture and emergency BRAIN surgery. The bleed has been stopped, 65+ staples later and a portion of his skull has been removed to help with pressure and swelling. He is stable, currently still intubated and fighting for normalcy and life! Lex and Shaun by his side!!!

This being said… the main focus right now for them as parents is Mason and being by his side through his fight! To make this happen it has and will involve multiple commutes, time away from work and their other children as well as additional financial strain. Add in the medical expenses and a huge battle ahead, they have their plates full. They are left scared and trying to find a place to begin. Thoughts and prayers are beyond appreciated and are working keep them coming!!
