Help me and my family survive in Gaza

Hello, my name is Alaa taiseer, a mother from Palestine, Gaza city.

I’ve created this fundraising campaign to help me and my family (me, my husband and son) survive from the war on Gaza and secure a better life and future for us.

My story began on the early morning of 7th of October, the day of starting the genocide and the subsequent loss and destruction.

On 9th of October, me, my husband and our beautiful baby boy Ashraf miraculously survived after targeting a house near to our home, after evacuation. Our house totally destroyed.

The house which me and husband built stone by stone for 5 years gone!! We lost all our beautiful memories and future. My baby who was just 9 months lost his house, his warm bed, his beautiful clothes and toys which he did use yet, and we became homeless

After moving from house to house, we have been forced to evacuate to the south of Gaza, where we lived through very difficult conditions away from my family members who were separated to different places and became very difficult to see each others again.

Suddenly, my beloved mother’s health condition started to deteriorate, she was not able to reach the hospital and receive her chemotherapy medication as a cancer patient, she couldn’t bear all of this, and she tragically passed away on 29th of October 2023 just after 22 days of this war. Then, and suddenly, my oldest sister Maysaa died too, leaving 3 children behind. Their death was a thunderstorm, I couldn’t believe that they passed away without seeing them or even saying goodbye, they were my soulmate and most loved persons ever. I can’t believe that they died and I’ll not be able to hug and smell them again. By this, me and my two remaining sisters lost the most precious persons in our life.

Moreover , and due to the lack of nutritive food, clean water and warm clothes, my baby Ashraf diagnosed with moderate anemia and suffered from acute gastrointestinal illness several times and needed to enter the hospital and receive treatment. This was very painful for me to see my baby loosing weight and getting sick without being able to help and save him.

On the other hand, and due to the siege, the prices of all essential items sharply increased, and we became not able to provide our baby his essential needs of nutritive food, diapers and milk due to high prices and lack of supplies in the market. Me and my husband lost our jobs and currently have no source of income, which adding additional pressure on us and affecting our ability to procure our essential needs.

On 24th of December, the Israeli military operations started at Khan Younis city which we evacuated to, we had no place to go, so moving to live in a small tent at Rafah city with 23 person was our only option. The living conditions were very terrible, we didn’t have a private bathroom, there weren’t enough food and clean water and we suffered from physical, mental, psychological and emotional stresses.

Currently my husband, my dad, my sister and her children left in Gaza and struggling to survive, the hot weather, lack of food, water, and hygiene are the main problems. And due to the low hygiene in the tents and all the people using one bathroom, my sister and her children diagnosed with hepatitis, they are very tired and sick, and they need special care and medicines to recover.

This campaign aiming to directly support my husband and my family in Gaza to be able to survive and buy there essential needs. Also to help me covering my baby’s needs of milk, diapers and health care alone with no source of income .
