In March of 2025, our family was completely shattered by the sudden and unexpected loss of my dad. His passing left an emotional hole that can never be filled. It also left my mom facing an overwhelming financial situation she never anticipated having to manage alone.

At the time of my dad’s death, my parents were already struggling financially and had accumulated significant debt. Since then, my mom has been doing everything she can to keep herself afloat, but the weight of unpaid property taxes has now put her at risk of losing the home they shared together.

This morning, she was officially served notice that she has 10 days to come up with $10,000 in back taxes or she will lose her home.

This house is more than just a building. It is the place where my parents built their life, where memories were made, and where my mom still feels close to my dad. Losing it would be another devastating loss during an already heartbreaking time.
