I have been blessed to take part in life changing opportunity not only for myself but for the students at The Hillside School. This upcoming April, I will be hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise money for student scholarships for The Hillside School in Macungie, Pa. Http;//hillsideschool.org/
For those of you who aren’t aware, the Appalachian Trail (AT) is a historic hike that spans from Georgia all the way to Maine, around 2,200 miles! It takes a daring 5 months to complete. During that time, I will be hiking, camping, bringing awareness to The Hillside School, and discovering my true self.
I want to hike the AT to be a role model for the students at Hillside by taking risks and pushing myself mentally and physically to achieve my life long dream. Only a small number attempt to do what I am going to do in 5 months. 20% of the hikers that start the AT finish it the same year. Knowing that I will raise money to give a child the chance to overcome a life long learning disability by attending Hillside School is my motivation.
I started this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the costs of the gear and food I will need on the Appalachian Trail. Some of the essential gear that is required:
I am asking for financial support from family, friends and hiking enthusiasts. This support will be immensely appreciated! You will play a huge part in showing these students that dreams can and do come true, with hard work and dedication. Being an inspiration has always been my goal in life and I feel that this opportunity will make that goal a reality.
Thank you for your support!
