Mother Daughter Passed 13 Days Apart from Covid

  • Hi, my name is Kristianna. My Grandma Bonny Yasinski passed away January 2nd, 2022. She was a Nurse. She read her Bible everyday NO MATTER WHAT! She loved Jesus, she was the sweetest woman you could ever meet, she always taught me to never turn away anyone who was hungry. Growing up many neighborhood kids were blessed by her generosity, and so were my brothers and I. When my mom struggled financially my grandma was always there to give whatever was needed. She was born in Springfield, IL and has always loved Cardinals! When my mom, her youngest child, was born my mom was early and weighed less than 5 pounds, she had to be incubated and my grandma prayed for God to save her, she said she would raise her up in Christ if He did. Well, her prayers were answered and she followed through on her promise. Even my mom’s name, Bethel,  means House of the Lord. My mom was living with my grandma and helped take care of her in small ways like reminding her to eat and fixing her food, my grandma had no major health issues. They passed 13 days apart and are now together forever in Heaven. My mom Beth Costa just passed away on Saturday, January 15th 2022. She was only 48 years old. She was a CNA and had a passion for helping others, she especially loved taking care of Alzheimer’s patients. She was a warrior for Relay for Life and loved babies. She left behind me, my brother Nick, and our 12 year old brother Anthony, she was also a grandma of my three children and has another on the way. She caught Covid-19 while caretaking for an elderly neighbor. After 25 long days of fighting it she went home to be with God. They were victims of this pandemic we are all living through right now and I would absolutely love for the world to know their story. I want to have a statue of them built together and list as many other names of Covid victims on it as possible. Also, if anyone has suggestions of where the memorial could be placed I am all for ideas. I have thought about in the park of in front of the Library or courthouse. Anyway, thank you for taking time to read their stories.
