Hi everyone.

First of all, I want to express how badly I hate doing this and if I thought there was another way I would most definitely pursue those options. However, I’ve exhausted all of my resources and have to take matters into my own hands.

Last week DCS decided that, due to the state of my sisters mental health, it would be best to temporarily remove the kids from her home and put them into an emergency placement with James and Myself.

Unfortunately, because this is an emergency placement and not a custodial transfer, we were not offered any financial assistance or resources to help support these children.

We have 3 children of our own, and with the addition of her 5, there are now 8 children ranging between 17 & 2 years old that we are responsible for. How they could ever expect a single income family to take on this responsibility with absolutely no help is beyond me.

Thankfully we have a wonderful friend group who have gone above and beyond to help us get through this first week.. however, we’re starting to wear thin on money, groceries, and supplies.. and I’m just not sure how much longer we can continue on this journey without placing our own family in jeopardy.

So, if you have it to give, I’m humbly asking for donations. Again, this isn’t ideal but I’m not sure what else to do at this point.
