Here's to Hope

Hello everyone,

My name is Thomas Benson. For those who don’t know me, it’s great to meet you! And for my friends and family, what’s up! I've started and erased this message countless times, thinking it would be easy to share my thoughts, but here I am, ready to open up about something incredibly important.

First, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Your encouragement has been a beacon of hope. And to those who are new here, thank you for taking the time to read my story.

For those who don’t know, I’ve been fighting a tough battle with a very aggressive form of Lupus, which attacks my body and causes severe damage to my internal organs. My Lupus has particularly targeted my kidney, and I’m now in stage 4 kidney failure. It was only recently that I learned I was born with just one kidney, which makes this battle even more challenging. Despite these difficulties, I feel incredibly blessed. I’ve found strength in my faith and in the support of my loved ones. Every day, I thank God for keeping me safe and giving me the resilience to face these challenges with a smile.

Here’s the exciting part: I’ve been given the opportunity to start receiving applications for a living donor! This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and I’m reaching out today to ask for your help. that will help cover transportation, boarding, and medical costs for the donor and myself. I want to ensure that whoever is willing and able to donate a kidney has everything they need, and this is my way of showing immense gratitude.

I’m excited and hopeful about this journey and the possibilities it brings. I hope my story can inspire others who might feel like giving up or think there’s no way out.
