Jerome’s Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On Saturday night my boyfriend, Jerome Wagstaff, and I were out celebrating a friend’s birthday, just having a normal night. When we were leaving, Jerome and a friend were walking to the car when a guy came out of nowhere and shoulder checked him as he was walking by. He politely tried to tell the man to watch where he’s going and the man proceeded to turn around with his three friends behind him and punch Jerome in the face. Then all four men ganged up on him, attacking him, punching him and pushing him to fall on the ground where they then all continued to hit and kick Jerome’s face, ribs, and abdomen while he was unconscious. Jerome’s friend tried to help but could only manage to restrain one of the men while the other three continued to all attack Jerome. A witness nearby screamed at the men to stop and announced she was calling the cops so the men ran off, leaving Jerome’s unconscious body bloody, beaten, and bruised lying on the concrete. When he came to he was disoriented and confused and profusely bleeding out of his mouth and head. When he got home he tried to just sleep it off, not realizing the severity of his injuries. Throughout the night he was coughing up blood so we went to the hospital first thing in the morning where they did x-rays and a CT scan and found out his jaw was broken completely in half and broken a second time on the left side. He also has a broken nose, bruised ribs, a tooth that is completely shifted and digging into his gums, and multiple other cuts and scrapes all over his body and inside of his mouth. He has to have surgery tomorrow to pin and screw his jaw back together and to realign his nose. From there his recover will be extremely long, painful, and difficult and his jaw will be pretty much wired shut for 6-8 weeks so he won’t be able to talk or eat any solid foods for that entire time. For those of you that know myself or Jerome, you know we are not the type of people to ask for hand outs. Jerome has to take at least 3 weeks off of work and he does not have health insurance so the medical bills just keep adding up. Jerome is the most genuine, caring, and selfless person you will ever meet. Everyone loves him and he just lights up a room simply from his smile and his amazing personality.  He literally would not hurt a fly and he didn’t deserve anything that has happened to him. Please, if you are able to, anything will help us at this point. Even if you can’t donate, just a prayer or a thought our way would be a huge help and mean so much to us. Also, we are trying to file a police report and figure out who were the men responsible for this so if anyone has any information or knows anything that could help we strongly encourage you to reach out to either myself (260) [phone redacted], or his mother, Stella Stuckey (260) [phone redacted]. We appreciate all of the love and support we have received so far and we are just hoping and praying for a fast and easy recovery so we can get back to our lives. Thank you.
