Hi, my name is Cherie and I'm raising money for my mother June for medical bills and property taxes our goal is to reach $10,000.00 in a very short window of time. I do not ask for help or assistance - heck I am usually the one aiding (in work and personal life) so this is very humbling and difficult for me:
Mom’s Journey
- Anyone who knows my mother knows that she never meets a stranger, her smile is the biggest and her generous heart is the biggest part of her.
- Mom has had a rough go at life – the thing is - you would never know it. Her love for and faith in God shows in her darkest nights.
- These last eight years have been particularly “dark” for her. A string of crises hit around the age of 60, which led to mental health treatment in 2017.
- After taking care of herself, she was able to return home to her husband in 2019. God knew he needed her because this was where his health started failing, his foot was amputated due to diabetic complications and soon after he was diagnosed with dementia. While caring for him, she was hit with complications from congestive heart failure.
- After the passing of my father in August 2022 Mom is fighting for her own life with three major heart surgeries, was diagnosed with breast cancer and has completed that treatment and the cancer is in remission.
- This has left her with a gigantic medical debt. Her only source of income is Social Security, which is just enough to cover day-to-day living expenses and debt.
- The loss of her husband has led to a fight over the home she shared with him for over 30 years, and a tax debt she was not aware of until his death one year ago next week.
2015 Diagnosed deep vein thrombosis, pneumonia, and pleural effusion.
2017 Diagnosed Mental Health Issue.
2021 Diagnosed with CHF, First heart procedure – ventricle repair.
2021 Husband diagnosed with dementia.
2022 Second heart surgery – pacemaker placement.
2022 Third heart surgery – defibrillator implanted.
2022 Husband passed away.
2023 Diagnosed with breast cancer and currently in remission.
For her life sustainability to end up being in the hands of others’ generosity is beyond measure.
This is supposed to be her “golden” years, yet she is currently looking for work at the age of 70.
I’m campaigning on my mother’s behalf for you to find it in your heart and help clear up this enormous medical debt and the property tax for Mom to live the rest of her days debt free in the home that she and Dad shared. She is now 70 and after a lifetime of giving to others please give to her.
