Support Bella's Journey to Recovery

Hi everyone,
My name is Angel, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my 7-year-old niece, Clarabella—who we all lovingly call Bella. My sister Daisy, Bella’s father Nick and our whole family are going through one of the hardest times we’ve ever faced, and I’m hoping we can find support from those willing and able to help.
Bella is one of the most loving, caring, and curious kids I’ve ever met. She’s the kind of child who makes you feel special just by being around her. She’ll ask you how your day was, tell you about hers, and stick by your side like your little best friend. Whether it’s helping me work on my car, going for a walk or tagging along for errands (especially if there’s a stop at Target involved), or our favorite hobby of taking a nap on the couch together she turns everyday moments into something joyful and meaningful. Bella has a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and appreciated.
Bella loves playing outside, kayaking, fishing with her dad, listening to her favorite country singer Morgan Wallen, and doing arts and crafts—but more than anything, she loves being around people. She’s incredibly social, always wanting to be surrounded by her friends and family. She’s full of life and has such a big heart.
On Sunday, Bella was admitted to the hospital with a severe case of Influenza B. Due to her underlying heart condition, any viral infection—especially the flu—can be incredibly dangerous. In Bella’s case, the flu doesn’t just make her feel unwell; it severely impacts her heart, which in turn affects other vital organs, including her kidneys. Bella has faced serious health challenges from a young age. She was diagnosed with hydronephrosis, a kidney condition, in childhood, and in 2022, she was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart. Her heart issues began in 2021, and since then, every time she’s come down with the flu, it has led to serious complications. This marks the fourth time she’s been hospitalized due to the flu—and the second time it has resulted in life support. She is currently in the ICU, facing one of the scariest moments yet.
The recent infection caused her to go into severe heart failure, her blood pressure dropped which drove the doctors to have to save her life. Thanks to the quick response of her incredible medical team, she was revived. However, her condition was so critical that doctors had to place her on ECMO, a specialized form of life support that takes over the function of her heart and lungs. This is the second time Bella has needed ECMO—an extraordinary measure that most physicians may never see used twice, especially in someone so young. Despite extensive testing and treatment, doctors still don’t have clear answers as to why her body reacts this way each time she gets sick. What they do know is that any illness can quickly lead to heart failure and kidney failure putting her life at risk.
Her parents Daisy, Nick and big brother Sonny have been by her side every second. Bella is their world—and ours too. This has taken a major emotional and financial toll. The medical bills, travel, time off work, and other out-of-pocket costs are adding up quickly. While insurance helps, it’s not enough to cover everything. That’s why I’ve created this GoFundMe—to ask for help supporting my sister and her family so they can continue to focus on Bella and her recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this page means more than you know.
Thank you for keeping Bella in your thoughts and for being part of our fight to help her heal. We truly appreciate every bit of love and support.
