Theodore's Skull Surgery

Hey friends & family!

Our precious Theodore was diagnosed with Sagittal Craniosynostosis (the middle suture on his skull fused closed too soon). This condition prevents his skull from growing and expanding normally. Without correction, this can cause increased pressure on his brain, seizures, visual abnormalities, skull deformity, and developmental delay. The only way to correct his skull is through a reconstructive surgery where the skull is removed and remodeled.

The surgery is scheduled for January 25th in Dallas, TX with world-renowned surgeons Dr. Fearon & Dr. Sacco.

Since Akil and I are both self-employed, we do not have traditional insurance. The out-of-pocket cost for just the surgery is $50,000. We do have a Health Share that “should” reimburse some of the surgical costs after we pay everything up front, but we do not know exactly how much or how long it will take.

We didn't plan to ask for help. We were just going to figure it out because he has to have surgery regardless of what it costs, but we've had multiple people reach out wanting to donate. We are hoping this GoFundMe can help recoup some of the costs that we will not be reimbursed and to cover expenses for surgery (Hotel stays in Dallas before/after surgery, injections needed prior to surgery to increase his blood count are $1,000, food, gas, and both of us being off work for a couple weeks).

So many of you love and adore this little boy of ours, and even if you cannot donate, we ask for your prayers through this major surgery.
