Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of someone very close to our family — my girlfriend’s father, Chris Lien.
Chris is currently in the fight of his life. After being laid off from his job earlier this year, he faced a series of difficult challenges. Struggling with the loss of income, mounting bills, and long-standing battles with alcoholism, things began to spiral out of control. It’s been heartbreaking to watch someone who has always cared so deeply for others feel like his life is falling apart.
But there is hope: Chris has taken a brave and important step by entering a 30-day rehab program. He’s currently in treatment, working every day to overcome his addiction and reclaim control of his life. It’s not easy, but he’s showing real strength.
Unfortunately, while he’s focusing on recovery, the financial pressures aren’t going away. Chris is behind on rent and utility bills, and without a job or income, it’s uncertain how he’ll manage once he completes rehab. We’re asking for your help now, so he doesn’t come out of treatment only to face the overwhelming stress of unpaid bills and instability.
We’ve set a goal of $15,000 to help cover:
Past-due rent and utilities
Basic living expenses (food, phone, hygiene essentials)
Supportive services after rehab (therapy, recovery programs)
Job search support once he’s ready
A small cushion to help ease his transition
Chris is working hard every day in rehab, showing up for himself and for his family. He’s trying to build a new life — one where he’s healthy, stable, and free from addiction. With your help, we can give him the chance to come home to hope, not just hardship.
Every donation, big or small, means the world to us. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page would still be a huge help.
Thank you so much for supporting Chris on this difficult but hopeful journey.
