Jordan's story:
I am a teacher writing on the behalf of a former student, Jordan. Jordan has not had the best of luck and has not made the best of choices. However, Jordan has not had the best of circumstances and certainly not a family member to guide or care for him. You see, Jordan found his mother passed away a year ago. His step-father left him in the house, alone. He was trying to finish his diploma requirements for high school, and he was not making the best choices. Furthermore, he even had to swallow his pride and ask missions for help with utilities and food.
Light at the end of the tunnel:
Jordan has taken steps to help himself. First, he asked me, and a couple of others I will call Team Jordan, for help. We have directed him to gaining employment first. He has done that. In addition, he shows up every day and on time. We are in the process of securing him many other things he will need to survive in this world- shelter, food, insurance, bank accounts, and so on. However, all this costs money.
The Worst Part:
His mother's home where he has been living all alone is now being foreclosed and being sold in auction May 8. We need to get Jordan shelter and all the incidentals he needs to take care of his own transportation.
Jordan's goal:
Jordan's goal is to go into the ARMY. He wants to be a Ranger. Jordan can do it! I know he can! He is very bright, but he needs a helping hand to get on his feet.
How YOU can help Jordan:
Hopefully, you can help this young man on his journey. We are only asking for $6000 to get him off to a clean slate, and get him on a road to recovery emotionally and physically so that Jordan can be confident and feel loved. Jordan cries everytime someone does something for him. He is genuinly grateful, and dismayed that strangers would lend a helping hand. Help us help make sure Jordan's Journey is really the begining for Jordan starting over, not living in the past. I have never given up on this kid who once sat in my class room; I will not give up on him now. Jordan's Journey can be a positive path, but we need help in getting him there!
