UPDATE: WE HAVE INCREASED THE GOAL AMOUNT TO $40,000. Odin is not going to be in a position to monetarily provide for his family for a long time during his road to recovery. All financial support will aid his wife and daughters for the foreseeable year. They need all the help they can get.
Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am raising money to help my brother and his family. As many of you know, Odin was admitted to UC Davis on Saturday, October 30th with complications due to COVID-19. He has been battling this virus for over 2 weeks and presently is fighting COVID-19 pneumonia as well as a possible blood clot in an artery in his heart. The doctors are continuing to administer steroids and breathing treatments to attempt to heal his lungs. On Friday, November 5th, he will be receiving stem cell treatment with those cells coming from Minnesota. His oldest daughter and his wife, Melissa, have also been fighting the same virus. Odin has had breathing issues his entire life which is further complicating his recovery. We do not have a release date to anticipate when he will be able to come home to Chico. When he does finally get to come home, he will have a long recovery. Melissa suffers from an autoimmune disorder and other health issues which took her out of her much loved career in Healthcare over a year ago and her body is still trying to fight this virus as well. Odin is the sole provider for his family and even when he does get to come home, he will need time to recover and gain his strength back. This has caused a huge strain on their finances and the ability to meet their basic needs while dealing with this and they need all the help they can get at this time. Due to Melissa and their oldest being COVID-19+, they are unable to have any visitors. Our family is reaching out to our friends and community to do what we can to lessen this burden and lift them up. We all know Odin is helping people whenever he can and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Please continue to pray for Odin and his girls. He means the world to this family and we need him to heal and come home.
