Phoenix needs a bicycle
Donation protected
Cassie tried winning Phoenix a bike and unfortunately she was not chosen and the family cannot afford to get her the bike she needs. I took what Cassie's explanation is below.
They have been wanting a Bicycle for Phoenix for two years ...
We would love to get Phoenix a bike before summer.
Please help us!!
We also ask our class of 2001 to help us make this happen.
Phoenix was born with a Chiari malformation(skull deformation) she had surgery on the 4th of November of 2008 to correct it. On the way home from a post op check up on December 3, 2008 we were in a car accident and It crushed c1-c3 with damage down to c6 & c7. So her technical diagnosis is a c1-c3 quadriplegic ventilator/pacer dependent with a neurogenic bladder and bowel. So in short she has no use of any limbs from the neck down. She had 1% chance of survival and we are 8 years post accident. (Praise Jesus)
We strive to show her that we can do anything it just may have to be done in a new way. We were very much outdoors people before this life changing event. There is a huge lack of accessibility for outdoor activities. Having this bike would open us up to another thing that we can do that is like everyone else. We have been wanting one of these bikes for 2 years, unfortunately this is not something covered by insurance and we are in no position to be able to purchase this for her. It would mean the world to our whole family to be able to go on family bike rides again. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Thanks Again Cassie.
