New Update- November 27th, 2023

12:20 pm

From Nick and Anna:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be. Cameron James Glandon. The most genuinely good person ever to walk the Earth went to heaven today. He was born on July 13th 2020 and immediately taught everyone how precious life is. For the last three years his constant smiles and overwhelmingly polite attitude towards everyone made him loved by anyone lucky enough to cross his path. As Anna has always said he was an old soul. I know we are his biased parents but I have never known a purer good than Cameron. He fought his entire life and laughed about it. He went to the darkest places humanity can fathom and said thank you to everyone for caring for him. Today God decided Cam had done enough good and that he wanted him to come home. Anna and I are beyond destroyed but find some little peace that he won’t be in any pain anymore. Thank you to everyone who ever shared in our fight. Family, friends, medical staff, and strangers have been so kind to Cameron, beyond what I think could be called normal in a situation like this. Cameron loves you all. And so do Anna and I. As Cameron would say.. I luuuvv YEW. Rest In Peace our beautiful baby boy

New update— September 11 2023

Hello all First and foremost… any grammar mistakes must be forgiven on this page. It was never my strong suit. Quick background on Cameron. My definition of quick. Cameron was born diagnosed with PPHN and ended up with chronic lung disease. He was in the NICU for 8 longgggg months, until he was finally able to go home. At this time we were under the impression Cams lungs were premature and going to get better with time. We spent the next few years going to multiple doctors apts and Cameron having back to back viruses. These virus’s brought us back to the hospital.. I believe 11-12 times (I honestly lost count). Every mintue spent with Cameron, was a minute we cherished. He is an old soul. Never had a tantrum, and never complained. He is a snuggle bug, and gives the best hugs. He is the most intelligent little boy, I swear he knows exactly what is going on. Fast forward to January 2023 and Cameron had just gotten over Adeno Virus. The whole month of January Nick and I were struggling to work, waking up countless nights to his oxygen alarm going off, and worried sick about Cameron. We didn’t know what was wrong. But we knew… something was definitely not right. We finally took Cameron back to the hospital and his heart had not recovered from the virus, his right ventricle was so large. It was so bad that they wanted Cameron to be taken to UVA hospital by ambulance. We finally got to UVA where we met the most wonderful health care team and they loved our Cam to bits. We met a well known Cardiologist who was going to get down to the bottom of his Pulmonary hypertension. Cameron eventually got a lung biopsy and was diagnosed with PVOD. (Please google) long story short the only cure is lung transplant or he would pass. Our world came crashing down. Our old soul would have to go through more? Why our Cameron? Are we going to lose him? So many answered and unanswered questions all at the same time. After his had the biopsy Cameron had a 11 minute cardiac arrest which I swear was the worst moment of my ENTIRE life. He did come back because I screamed his name as loud as I could in front of a room full of doctors and nurses. I swear my scream brought chills down everyone’s spines. Cameron came back, my baby was still fighting… alright fast forward some more. We are in March 2023 and we desperately need to get Cam to UPMC because they can do transplants there. He was very critically ill and helicoptered to UPMC. We knew no one, in a new city, and had no where to stay. We were scared and worried. Cameron doesn’t go anywhere without a bang. Night 1 he had a cardiac arrest (March 27th) and was placed on ecmo (life support). We have been at UPMC where we also have met the most amazing team as well. I was going to list them all but there is TOO MANY. Cameron has been listed since April 12th and we have been there almost 6 months enjoying the roller coaster of the CICU. Our poor Cameron has been through multiple infections and even a stroke on ecmo. He has come back from it all and is still fighting. Nick and I have been in Pittsburgh taking Care of Cora and going to the hospital everyday. We have both been unable to work and I lost my job September 1st. Thank you to all of those that have helped to keep us here with our son. To everyone that has been there for us and Cameron, in any way possible. We thank you so so much. This has been that hardest 3 years, the support, love and prayers has most definitely helped us through. I will post my updates on here from now on

Love Anna Nick Cameron and Cora

First of all we want to say thank you to everyone visiting this page. If you are here you have most likely been touched by Cameron’s story in some way. If you have donated in the past, sent a gift card, prayed or even just sent a thoughtful text or note for Cameron and his family, thank so much from the bottom of all of our hearts.

We cannot give you an exact idea of what life is going to be like for Cameron or his mom and dad in the next week, month, or even years. But what we do know is no parent should ever have to choose their job over their child for fear of loosing their house or a means of living.

Yesterday we found out that Cameron’s heart is not doing as great as it was. The medications he is on for his heart do not seem to be helping right now. He is being transferred by ambulance to UVA tomorrow to see a new doctor that can hopefully help Cameron get back to a better place so that he can breathe better. We understand there may be a lot of questions about Cameron’s medical updates. However, right now we do not have a lot of the answers. So at this time we are not going to provide many details, since things are changing daily. What we do know, is that we love that little boy and he deserves so much better then the cards he has been dealt. Same goes for my sister and brother in law.

This go fund me is specifically for Anna and Nick. They have taken many weeks off work to be in the hospital with Cameron or to take care of their daughter Cora. They have not once left Cameron’s side. To be completely honest we do not know how long they will both be able to sustain both jobs. Their life consists of traveling to and from the hospital, finding care for their daughter, trying to squeeze in a few hours of sleep, taking care of their dog, and managing the many conversations with doctors and nurses. All while trying to keep two full time jobs. The go fund me will help them with their stay in Charlottesville(however long that might be), groceries, mortgage payments, bills etc.
They did not ask me to do this, in fact they specifically asked us not to, They have appreciated everything everyone has done for them and do not want to ask for anymore help. But they need it. They need the support.

If you do not feel comfortable donating money, there are many other ways you can help. DoorDash gift cards, grocery gift cards, dog sitting, laundry service gift car. Please reach out to me if you would like to send a gift card.

Thank you so much.
