Civil Disobedience Movement Myanmar
The Civil Disobedience Movement is happening. Civilian workers are planning to sit out on their jobs as a way of protesting peacefully against the military coup. This movement, initiated by brave doctors from within the country, will need support if the fight is on for the long haul. Given that Myanmar has almost zero access to crowdfunding sites, my Uncle and I have decided to create this GoFundMe page.
The monthly salary of Myanmar doctors ranges from $200-300 USD while it ranges from $150-250 USD for nurses. If we were to aim to be the sole sponsors for their sacrifice in this movement, the price would technically cost $9 million.
However, not all doctors are participating in this movement since most specialists are financially secure. Our main concern is for young doctors participating in this job sit-out. Therefore, our goal is to raise $300,000 USD for a start.
Please chip in whatever you can and feel free to message us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We are worried for our family members whose lives are at risk right now due to the coup, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please share this also if you can't contribute monetarily!!
