Hello... the last 2 years have been very hard on my family. We used to be a family of 5 with 2 incomes. We suddenly became a family of 8 with 1 income. My husband became ill and was unable to work. We have applied for SSDI and have been denied twice now. We have applied for state assistance and keep getting denied because apparently, I make too much money. Trust me, I don't. We do utilize our local charities for groceries when needed and pay our utility bills in payments. The biggest issue is that our mortgage has been in furlough for months and it ends at the end of this month. Despite my husband's health issues, he has been trying to get a job, but that could be a bit before he gets any paychecks. I hate to ask for help this way, but I don't want us to lose our home. My elderly mother lives with us so her needs can be taken care of. My son also lives with us as he has recently become a single parent to a non-verbal autistic child.
Any help towards our mortgage payments would be greatly appreciated. Once I am able to get the furloughed payments caught up, my husband should be bringing in a paycheck and we will be fine. We realistically would need to raise $9,100.00 to get caught up, but anything will help at this point.
Thank you for reading our story and thank you for anything you do.
Sincerely,
Very worried wife, mom, daughter, and nonna.
PS: if you're asking yourself why I waited so long to ask for help, well I didn't want to do it this way.
