"Occhi Vuoti" è un cortometraggio indipendente realizzato come progetto finale di tesi per la laurea in Media Design e Arti Multimediali (Filmmaking) alla NABA di Milano.

Logline

In un appartamento apparentemente ordinato, una bambina di dieci anni, Celine, lotta con il senso di solitudine e alienazione in un giorno che dovrebbe essere di festa: il suo compleanno. L’incontro con un peluche diventa il catalizzatore per un confronto simbolico con le sue paure e la sua voglia di affermazione​

Sinossi

Celine, una bambina introversa e riflessiva, vive con la madre Anita, una giovane donna distante e sopraffatta. Nel giorno del suo compleanno, invece di festeggiare, Celine si scontra con il vuoto emotivo che caratterizza la sua esistenza. Riceve un grande orso di peluche come regalo, un oggetto che presto assume connotati inquietanti. La relazione tra Celine e l’orso diventa sempre più disturbante, culminando in un gesto di ribellione simbolica. Tuttavia, questo non allevia il suo senso di solitudine.

La storia si chiude con Anita che ritrova l’orso per strada, un’immagine che riflette il tema centrale di abbandono e alienazione​

Note di Regia

Il cortometraggio rappresenta un viaggio emotivo nelle complessità delle relazioni familiari, nel senso di abbandono e nella ricerca di connessione in un mondo che diventa sempre più distante. È un'esplorazione della solitudine e della resilienza, vista attraverso gli occhi di Celine. L’intento è dare voce a quelle emozioni silenziose che definiscono profondamente l’essere umano.

Personaggi

Celine: Una bambina di dieci anni introversa e riflessiva, il cui sguardo serio e analitico è il fulcro emotivo della storia. Rappresenta la lotta contro un vuoto emotivo e simbolico.

Anita: Madre di Celine, giovane e distante, simbolo della disconnessione genitoriale.

Ettore: Amico di Anita, con un ruolo ambiguo nella vita della famiglia.

Mary: Babysitter fredda e meccanica, incapace di creare un vero legame con Celine​

"Empty Eyes" is an independent short film created as the final thesis project for the degree in Media Design and Multimedia Arts (Filmmaking) at NABA in Milan.

Logline

In an apparently ordinary apartment, a ten-year-old girl, Celine, struggles with feelings of loneliness and alienation on what should be a festive day: her birthday. The encounter with a stuffed toy becomes the catalyst for a symbolic confrontation with her fears and her desire for self-affirmation.

Synopsis

Celine, an introverted and reflective young girl, lives with her mother Anita, a distant and overwhelmed woman. On her birthday, instead of celebrating, Celine confronts the emotional emptiness that defines her existence. She receives a large teddy bear as a gift, an object that soon takes on disturbing connotations. The relationship between Celine and the bear becomes increasingly unsettling, culminating in a symbolic act of rebellion. However, this does not ease her sense of loneliness.

The story ends with Anita finding the bear on the street, an image that reflects the central theme of abandonment and alienation.

The short film represents an emotional journey through the complexities of family relationships, the sense of abandonment, and the search for connection in an increasingly distant world. It is an exploration of loneliness and resilience, seen through Celine’s eyes. The aim is to give voice to the silent emotions that profoundly define human existence.

Characters

Celine: A ten-year-old introverted and reflective girl whose serious and analytical gaze is the emotional core of the story. She represents the struggle against emotional and symbolic emptiness.

Anita: Celine's mother, young and distant, a symbol of parental disconnection.

Ettore: Anita's friend, with an ambiguous role in the family’s life.

Mary: A cold and mechanical babysitter, unable to create a genuine connection with Celine.
