Criket had been in and out of the hospital starting January 10th after having suffered multiple mini strokes over the past several months that finally led to a heart attack in early January. While in the hospital, she was very incoherent but on Wednesday the 19th, Criket surprised everyone by becoming more aware of her surroundings and wanting to see Frank. Thursday was her birthday, and Frank was able to visit with her in the hospital and Facetime with the kids, where she told each of them she loved them. On Friday, the last day Frank was with her, she had asked him if she could go home. He told her that he wasn't ready and needed to make some changes to the house. But, he was looking at a rehab center just 10 minutes from their house. "Give me a little bit of time," he asked her. He later realized that she didn't mean to come home with them. She knew on that day that she was going to see our Lord and be welcomed into His house very soon.

It was a great comfort to Frank that she somehow found the strength to tell her family that she loved them in a strong voice, with clear eyes and a bright smile. It was her final act of love.
