Help save his life

Hi, my name is Arianna, and I’m a boarder at a local farm where I keep my horse. I’m creating this fundraiser because it’s incredibly hard to watch someone who cares so deeply for their animals go through something like this. This is a place built on love, dedication, and doing right by the horses no matter what and right now, that’s exactly what’s happening in the face of back-to-back emergencies

This 4-day-old foal is currently in intensive care at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), receiving the highest level of neonatal care available. He is being treated for sepsis (a life-threatening bloodstream infection) and neonatal maladjustment syndrome (commonly known as dummy foal syndrome), a condition that affects neurological function in newborn foals.

Because of this, he requires:
* 24/7 intensive monitoring
* IV fluids and plasma transfusions
* Broad-spectrum antibiotics
* Assisted feeding and nursing support
* Continuous evaluation by a specialized veterinary team

These treatments are not optional they are what is keeping him alive right now.

The cost reflects that level of care:

* $7,000 already spent saving Ruby
* $8,000 already for this foal’s care
* Projected to reach $15,000 by Friday
* Ongoing hospitalization at approximately $2,000 per day

At this stage, the total cost is unknown because it depends on how long he needs intensive care and how his condition progresses. Foals with sepsis often require weeks of hospitalization to stabilize and recover.

While he is responding to treatment, he is not out of danger yet, and stopping care too early is not an option if we want to give him a real chance at survival.

This is where help truly makes a difference.

Every donation goes directly toward:

* Covering daily ICU costs
* Continuing life-saving treatments
* Giving him the time he needs to recover

Even small contributions help extend that time and in cases like this, time is everything.

If you’re able to donate, it truly matters. If not, sharing this helps reach more people and increases his chance of getting the support he needs.

This isn’t just about helping financially it’s about helping keep him in the care that is giving him a chance to live.

If you’d prefer to donate directly to the veterinary hospital, you are welcome to contact the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) at [phone redacted] and press 3 to speak with the clinic. They can accept credit card payments directly toward the foal’s care
