Support For Jordan
Donation protected
My name is Kathy Verrelli - fundraising for Jordan Byrd, from Inside the Byrds Nest. She's a fellow egger who supports herself and her young daughter from sales of pysanky, batik eggs and lots of jewelry. Unfortunately, she's been hit with a natural disaster and a car accident.
Jordan's only means of livelihood has been abruptly halted.
If you would like to donate to Jordan so that she can purchase:
- a new display tent
- display tables and displays
- new pysanky - egging supplies
- eggshells
- retail bags & boxes
- etc.
Please consider supporting her through this GoFundMe page.

Why I've been absent...

I’ve been struggling with how to write this story so I guess I'll just dive in: It was a dark and stormy night when a microburst (sort of like a mini tornado that pushes air down instead of sucking up) dropped down on my fine art booth and tent. I got a panicked call (after Lyra my daughter was tucked into bed) from a bystander who found my mangled tent in the middle of the street. She told me, almost crying herself, that everything was ruined. I thought surely, that’s an exaggeration. It was not. It is not. It’s as if someone picked up the tent, threw it to one side and then viciously took a set of golf clubs to the contents. Shattered eggs, splintered displays, years of work - including the Beauty and the Beast egg and about 7 other large Rhea, Ostrich, and Emu eggs, broken to pieces - all of it gone in an instant. People found jewelry blown into trees, bushes and down neighborhood streets. I have about half my jewelry left (it didn’t break!). But most everything else from my displays to my kistka and even business cards and packaging were destroyed. To top off this perfect storm, I was in a car accident 3 days later when a driver made a wrongful left hand turn directly into my car. Thankfully Lyra was not in the car and although very sore and without a car, now I am fine.
If you were thinking of buying a holiday gift for a loved one from me this season, I ask that you consider making a purchase now as that will be the biggest help you could offer me to start rebuilding all my displays and restocking everything that was lost. After all, these pieces have been tornado-wind tested. It’s the start of the fall festival season and I'll be honest, it is going to be a struggle to even just find the time and energy to create new items to replace what was lost in time for the fall/winter circuit - let alone come up with the funds to replace everything that was lost in time for my next show in October. I am also accepting custom orders for holiday ornaments and large egg commissions to raise funds as well. Thank you for your continued support and well wishes over this past week.
