For years, I lived with lymphedema, so swelling in my legs always felt like just a part of life. But in March of this year, everything changed. What began as a simple bruise on my left leg quickly grew into something frightening. The area swelled, darkened, and ventually began to bleed. After being referred to a dermatologist, I received the most devastating news of my life on June 11th:

I was diagnosed with angiosarcoma, a rare and extremely aggressive cancer that attacks the blood vessels. In my case, it was rapidly spreading through my leg.

After meeting with specialists in Asheville and Chapel Hill, the medical team determined that the only safe and effective treatment was to amputate my left leg. On July 10th, 2025, I underwent this life-changing surgery. Since then, I’ve worked tirelessly through rehab, physical therapy, and countless doctor appointments in hopes of healing and rebuilding my life. But then came another devastating setback. Despite doing everything I was told and pushing myself to recover, it took doctors three long months to get a PET scan approved an scheduled. When we finally had the scan in October, we learned the heartbreaking truth:

My cancer has returned.

Since then, everything has become even more overwhelming.

I recently had surgery to place a port and I am now preparing to begin chemotherapy. I am still in pain, still unable to work, and still navigating appointment after appointment.

To make matters even harder, I have lost my short-term disability, and I am currently fighting to get approved for long-term disability. With no income coming in, medical bills increasing, and everyday expenses piling up, we are struggling to stay afloat.

Through all of this, I continue to hold onto my faith. I know God is with me, even in the darkest and most uncertain moments. But I can’t walk this road alone I need help from my community, friends, family, and anyone who feels moved to support me.
