On February 11th, Joe went in for a CT scan to check for a kidney stone and thanks to a thorough and inquisitive doctor, they discovered a partially collapsed lung, which led to further testing. Within days, Joe was facing an abnormal PET scan, a biopsy, and finally, the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 small cell lung cancer (neuroendocrine) — an aggressive form of cancer that has already spread to other organs and systems.

Since then, Joe has undergone intensive rounds of chemotherapy with unwavering strength and courage; his wife, Missy, and his three young children driving him forward. He is a warrior in every sense of the word — a true example of resilience and fight. But sadly, for this type and stage of cancer, chemo is not enough — and even more devastating, Joe has been told that his body and this aggressive cancer will eventually become resistant to it.

This is where you come in.

We’re now working to get Joe to Hope4Cancer in Mexico for a 3-week in-patient treatment that offers an integrative approach to healing. Most importantly, this care plan is fully individualized — designed specifically for Joe, his aggressive cancer type, his body, and the treatments he has already undergone.
