Cremation expenses for my mom, Penny

My beautiful mother has passed away and I need help paying for the expenses to have her cremated or buried. Every little bit will help. Please help me.

My mom worked hard all of her life to support me, her only child. She did the best she could do and was my best friend. Sometimes we fought like sisters but she was my #1 fan always.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimers/dementia last year on my wedding anniversary (Oct 6). I thought we had more time, but she was taken from me yesterday. It was very unexpected. I was and am not prepared for this at all.

Mom had a harder life than most, born with a birthmark on one side of her face (which I thought was beautiful)...she struggled and faced many obstacles. She graduated Alameda High School in 1969 and worked for the College of Alameda for years. She became disabled when I was 14, and I've been doing my best to take care of her for the last 34 years. There wasn't a day that I didn't call or visit her. At times she was pretty independent and other times she was very dependent. But she loved me and did her best to be a good mom.

She had no savings, no insurance, no property. She lived in low income housing off of her social security income. I need to come up with at least 3912.83 (maybe more?) for cremation and urn, and that is with no funeral services and the most basic urn I can find. It's in Alameda, so prices are high.

Any amount would help. $5. $10. I know this isn't your mom, but please think about your own and what you would do if you were suddenly alone without yours (thank goodness I have my husband and kids), lost, and without the funds to pay for her services.
