Adolph Ortiz is a Disabled Veteran living near Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. Adolph (now 81 years old) and his wife Teresa Ortiz (78) have rented homes their entire life. When Adolph's disability became debilitating in 2013, Teresa contacted me to help them purchase a home so that they could make handicap accommodations. I was able to find Adolph and Teresa a home just two streets from the home they were currently renting. I contacted VA Services at Fort Hood and they approved the home renovation at government expense to accommodate Adolph's needs!!! Adolph and Teresa were overjoyed to become first-time homeowners! After the purchase, we contacted VA Services to let them know the home was ready to be fitted to Adolph's disability. Now, two years later, Adolph still finds himself on a waiting list to get the accommodations he needs. He has fallen multiple times just trying to get into the shower and his wheelchair and walker are difficult to move throughout their home. This has been tugging on my heart for a while and I feel compelled to help a wonderful man, a Christian family, and a proud American soldier. Please help me raise money to provide funds to remodel their home - a bathroom is all they truly hope for, but I would like to do as much as possible.
