Help Honey Get Life-Saving Surgery

Hi kind stranger, my names Honey. My mom doesn’t know my whole story, she just adopted me a a couple months ago in June 2025. Her coworker, my foster mom Jen found me outside when her daughter went fishing. Although I’m super friendly and came right up to her looking for love and food, it was clear that I’d been fending for myself for awhile and was homeless. I was underweight, with terribly matted fur. My fur was so matted in itself, with twigs, prickers, and burdock that they had to shave my coat down really short.

They took me to the vet who could tell my past was not kind. I’ve had a lot of litters, I’ve been used for breeding, and when I was no longer of use, they dumped me outside.

My foster family took me in, showered me in love, gave me sweaters and pjs to wear when my coat was too short to keep me warm, and showed me for the first time what love is.

My foster doggy brother was getting jealous, so now that I was on the mend they wanted to help me find my forever home.

My foster mom, Jen, knew her sweet Girl Scout coworker, Sabrina was looking for a dog, so she reached out to her. Sabrina had never had a dog so she was nervous, she didn’t know what an older lady like me would be like or if I’d take to her. My “trial” day with Sabrina was filled with more fun than I ever knew I could experience. She took me to Tractor Supply to pick out my own toys, but I have no idea what toys are, I was never allowed to play. But the guy behind the counter gave me treats so it was still fun to go in there. She took me to the lake to see if I’d want to go in, but I was never taken to go swimming or bathed, the water scares me. But it was really fun to sniff around and get pets from strangers. She took me to her second job and I met some of her coworkers and got some snacks at the restaurant, then we went out to ice cream-oh boy that pup cup was love at first sight!!

Sabrina asked my foster mom if the trial day could be a trial sleepover. I was too nervous to sleep in her bed that night, but her couch is awfully comfy. The next day Sabrina asked Jen about keeping me forever.

Sabrina’s my mom now, but she’s also my soul sister. We do everything together. We both love adventuring on trails, the lake, going out to dinner and pup cups, shopping, car rides, camping, having girls night( I have the best aunties)going to grandma and grandpas, and now I sleep in our bed together every night and we cuddle.

My new mom, Sabrina, knew she had to get me a vet so we went one day. They were really nice there, telling me how pretty and nice I am, plus mom gave me treats the whole time, but I could tell she was really anxious. The vet said all the bumps on my tummy, the many many bumps, are tumors. My mom started crying, that made me sad. I’m okay mom! I tried telling her, I don’t feel sick . But the vet said they could be cancerous and we need to remove and test them. My mom cried and cried that day, she said she just got me and this wasn’t fair, that I wasn’t allowed to leave her yet, we haven’t had enough time together. The vet said the bumps may be nothing, but we have to remove them and see. And besides that I’m very healthy and happy.

My mom works really hard at two jobs, and it’s just us two girls living together supporting another. The vet said it’s going to be an expensive procedure to get me an X-Ray, remove my bumps, and test them.

My mom is too embarrassed to ask for help and money, so I’m asking for her. She can’t afford my surgery, but says I really need it. The vet thinks I’m about 8 years old, but I feel like I’m a brand new puppy who just got their first chance to live their life. My breed can live a long time, but I need to have this surgery to remove my bumps and see if they’ll make me sick.

I really hate to see my mom cry, if you’re able, could you please consider donating to our cause? Every penny will go to my surgery, and if there’s extra mom says she’ll buy me more pup cups and we can donate to an animal shelter.

People tell me all the time how sweet of a girl I am, how calm, I’ve never even barked, and I’m even in the process of getting registered to become a therapy dog. I’ve been around people, kids, babies, dogs, cats, I love them all.

Thankyou for reading my story, and considering donating. I promise if I’m given the chance to keep living this life, I will keep sharing and spreading my love, never taking a day for granted.
