Hi, my name is Heather, I am a Registered Nurse raising money to support my upcoming medical mission to Ukraine. I will be leaving the small town of Danville in the first week of July to bring supplies and provide medical care and comfort to those in need. It has always been my passion to help others in need. My husband just returned from a year long deployment over seas as well. It is important to us to show our two young sons the value in helping others, whether that be in the military or medical field.
As you know, on February 24, 2022, attacks by Russian forces were reported in major cities across Ukraine, including Berdyansk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, and the capital Kyiv. It has been verified that as of June 7th,… 4,266 Ukrainian civilians have died (272 of them were children). Neighboring countries have graciously welcomed civilians crossing the border. There have been 3.95 Million civilians that have crossed the border into Poland. Most of these civilians left with the clothes on their back. There was very little time to gather supplies and daily medications before they left.
On behalf of International Medical Relief, I will be working alongside other qualified volunteers and medical professionals to provide health care in some of the most impoverished regions of this area. We are confident that we will be able to help more people than ever, but we need financial assistance to help the trip be successful.
Your donation goes directly to purchasing and transportation of supplies to Ukrainian refugees. I am fortunate to have one of my VTC students, soon to be a nurse (Shandi), joining me on this journey. Our mission is to make a difference and provide the best care possible to those in need. We hope to leave behind additional supplies to support the ever-growing influx of refugees crossing the border to safety.
**Our current location (changes frequently based on needs) will place us working closely with critical care patients, as well as a large orphanage. I will keep you posted as we get updates.
I appreciate your support!
Heather
