Help Tyler Triumph Over Cancer!

Tyler Giersdorf and his family are in need of your support and prayers. Tyler was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 36. Tyler’s story started over a year ago when he fell ill and took a trip to the ER. He had a fever, body aches, and lumps on his head. The doctors at the hospital sent him home claiming it was all related to his Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), an autoimmune disease that he was diagnosed with back in 2015. A few months later the same symptoms came back. Thinking that it couldn’t be related to his RA again, Tyler went back to the ER only to be sent home once more with changes to his medications. This continued every couple of months with countless doctor visits and Tyler missing more and more work because of fever, chills, fatigue and other symptoms. Finally, his RA doctor referred him to an oncologist, who also claimed his symptoms were RA related and said there was no need for additional testing. Fast forward a few months and the symptoms returned once more and were now more severe. This time Tyler went to the ER and refused to be sent home until someone took his symptoms more seriously. He was admitted into the hospital and a wonderful physician finally connected the dots. She referred him to an oncologist who was able to diagnose the real problem -- Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which had advanced to Stage 4. This diagnosis came a year after Tyler first came down with the symptoms. The cancer’s advanced stage necessitates a longer and more rigorous treatment plan. Because Tyler’s job is very physical, he will be unable to work while undergoing treatment, this on top of all the work he already missed during the past year. Tyler is a husband, a father to two young children and the primary breadwinner of his family. The family has already faced a year of medical bills and lost wages. Now that Tyler has started chemotherapy, their journey continues, filled with uncertainty. Go Fund Me donations will go towards Tyler’s medical and living expenses. Tyler’s wife, Megan, and his children, Gavin (6), & Gabriella (4), are grateful for any financial support which eases the tremendous burden they currently face.
