In the early hours of January 22nd 2019, an unexpected accidental fire ripped through the home of Brenda Bird and partner Mike Landry who lived in Parry Sound.
Unfortunately, not all were able to make it out of the house. Brenda's beloved partner Mike along with their 2 dogs and 2 cats were caught in the fire.
Brenda was able to escape the fire by breaking a window and climbing through the broken glass to get out but sustained injuries and is currently in hospital. This amazingly strong woman walked barefoot in the snow for over 500 meters to a neighbors house to call for help.
The amount of heartache and pain Brenda and her family are experiencing cannot be measured.
The fire has now left Brenda alone and having to rebuild her life again from scratch as the fire destroyed her entire home along with all of her belongings.
