Healing Ashley

Ashley has suffered a life threatening illness that has put her in life support for a month. She is aided by multiple machines because she is unable to drink, eat or breath on her own. She is currently having pleural effusion which may require a surgery in the next two to three weeks to remove fluids inside her stomach. If she gets through this critical time, it will be a very long recovery and she will need repeated hospital visits and physical therapy. Cole her husband has been by Ashley’s side day and night. Not only does he communicate to her Doctors but also provides frequent updates on her condition to family members and friends. He deserves recognition for his devotion and positivity in these difficult times. Ashley crucially needs his help because she is fighting for her life.

For those who know Ashley, she has a beautiful and infectious laugh. Her great sense of humor and her charm have probably won you over. She is also a great artist, writer and an activist for women who are victims of violence. She is compassionate to others and generous to friends. If you are one of her friends you know she will always be there for you. If you are a family member you know she is caring, thoughtful and loving. Ashley’s life has not been a rosy path. She has experienced hardship, trauma and illnesses. Because of her strong will and passion to live, we have faith in her and believe that she will fight to survive.

We have learned she could be hospitalized for several months. Ashley’s Hospital bills are beyond her and her husband Cole’s financial means. Being her main caregiver Cole has not been able to work, being with her 24/7 at the hospital sleeping on a cot in her hospital room.
