Last week, our friend Jen lost her husband George suddenly. So many friends have asked how they can help, so we’ve set up this go fund me to help Jen with funeral expenses and associated costs. Jen says it best herself:

“As you may have heard, George passed away on August 31st. He had been dealing with some undiagnosed health issues for about 9 months and unfortunately died before we really knew what was going on. It was a shock but he died quickly and at home which I think was a blessing in disguise.

George was an amazing, calm and gentle soul and I loved him tremendously. He loved camping, people watching, gold panning, rock hounding, wearing funny t-shirts and raising pigs and goats. He also had a way of being able to talk to just about anyone and even the most nervous dogs loved to cuddle with him. He was always up for a good adventure or a day of meeting me with coffee and burritos when I hiked 30 miles. He equally enjoyed a day of “puttering” around the house (which I finally realized was code for sitting in different places and looking at the things to do!)

He was not only the person I lived my home life with but we also ran the bakery together full time since the pandemic. As his therapist told me when he called with condolences, “George was a cool dude!”, and I think most of you would agree. George was really hoping that upon his death I would take his body to the top of a mountain and let the birds pick him apart. (Sadly not allowed in Washington!) I’ve decided to go with the terramation option instead which seems like the next best thing.
