Jess Self is a sculptor based in Decatur, Georgia, and a Textile Art Instructor at the University of North Georgia. Her artwork explores materiality, archetypes, and cultural narratives through wax, wool, wood, and textiles. By integrating craft traditions and storytelling, her figurative sculptures examine spirituality and the human experience.

On November 12, 2025, Jess lost her entire studio in the devastating South River Art Studio fire in Atlanta. This not only included equipment and textiles, but in-progress works of art as well.
