Kitty’s GoFundMe
Donation protected
This past year has brought immense change to the lives of millions of people and made Americans realize how uncertain the future can be. In early February, however, things got much more uncertain for my mother, Kitty, when she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. While the prognosis is good, no cancer diagnosis is easy and no surgery is “routine.”
While the cancer is concerning, it is the aftermath that is the scariest. Kitty has worked at Disney as a server over the past 45+ years, relying on her health to be able to make a living. While doctors are hopeful, her vocal chords are damaged, impacting her ability to return to work and make a living.
Kitty is fiercely independent and strong. She is determined to beat this, but she lives alone as the sole party responsible to pay her mortgage, utilities, and groceries. As proud people, this page is a last resort. We have been denied in our efforts to refinance her house and seek other assistance.
It has been nearly a month since Kitty was last able to work, and her ability to return after her surgery is yet to be determined. Recover is a long road & she is terrified of being out of work permanently.
Kitty has always been a giver. Those in her community know that she is quick to lend a hand without question. She needs our thoughts and prayers and any other assistance you are willing to give.
Together we are stronger.
