560km in 56 days for Scleroderma

My dad has a systemic autoimmune disease called scleroderma which is debilitating, progressive and extremely painful. There is no cure for this fatal form of Scleroderma, which affects skin, connective tissue, and internal organs due to an overproduction of collagen that effectively slowly turns the body to stone. My dads scleroderma has also caused him to develop stage 5 kidney disease, heart disease, haemolytic anemia and interstitial lung disease - meaning it's difficult for him to breathe or to get oxygen into his lungs.

He's lived in the hospital for the majority of the last two years, including a terrifying period where he caught covid and we were all told he probably won't make it; however my dad has never lost a fight - and has been determined to overcome every hospital stint and life-threatening prognosis that he's faced.

I moved to Australia in 2019, and up until that time I was working as a landscaper with my dad every day - he was perfectly fit and healthy. Receiving the news that my dad had developed this life-threatening disease whilst I was the other side of the world was heartbreaking - then the pandemic began and I wasn't able to fly home to even visit. Now that I have been able to relocate back to the UK I am determined to make a difference and want to raise as much money as possible for a charity that supports my dad and other sufferers of scleroderma.

From the 29th June until the 23rd August (56 days consecutively) I will be running 10km each day. This is to celebrate my dads 56th Birthday on the 13th July - defying all the odds to make it to this day - after being told several times he had only a 5% chance of making it through the night.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
