This is my dad. His name is Jonathan. He's a former Navy Corpsman, father of 6, and husband. In April, he noticed he was having some difficulty swallowing, which only got progressively worse. After several different appointments and procedures, it has been decided that Dad has stage 3 esophageal undifferentiated adenocarcinoma. What was thought to be an esophageal stricture, or a narrowed portion of the esophagus from GERD and acid reflux, turned out to be a tumor in the esophagus that has protruded into the muscle of the esophagus.

We are being positive about the situation, and we believe in a healing God. Dad is going to need a range of treatments, including major surgery, chemo, and radiation. This treatment has created a situation where he has to be on disability so that he can put his health first and worry about that and his family.

That being said, we are raising this money to help take some of the financial pressure off of his wife, Emma, who is also helping to raise their 11-month-old son.
