Hello, my name is Amanda Agueros, 41 year old Big Sister, Eldest Daughter, Dog Mom and RGV native. Never thought I'd be creating a gofundme for anything but it seems that that's how life goes sometimes. Finding out I had colon cancer in September was definitely not on my 2025 bingo card. But here we are and staying strong and fighting is the only choice.

I have already gone through surgery where they removed 5 inches of my sigmoid colon and 29 lymph nodes. Of the 29, only 1 had microscopic traces of the cancer. Three weeks into recovery from the surgery I have already had a consultation with my oncologist at Texas Oncology. He determined I am at Stage 3b due to the cancer infiltrating the lymph nodes but still says my prognosis is good. The game plan is 3 months of chemo along with several pills, several times a day for the next 3 months. With the support of my incredible family, friends and coworkers, by the grace of God and that which is much bigger than me, I am remaining hopeful and resolved.

I am setting this gofundme up with the sole purpose of helping pay the medical expenses associated with all this. I keep being reminded to make my health the priority, nevertheless, as an overthinker and serial planner, it's difficult to stay focused on just that when the financial aspects and staying afloat are always looming.

I am beyond grateful and appreciate every cent, every dollar that could be given. But good vibes, hopeful thoughts and prayers are just as valuable and appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. I hope to share many more chapters with good health and happiness.
