Emmanuel Goff is an eight-year-old boy with a big smile, that he shyly doles out to those who know and love him. He loves to play tag on the playground, bring his stuffed animals for props in Spanish class, and whisper suggestions and tips in the ears of his friends in Chess Club. He is a precious little boy with a newfound fight ahead of him.
Recently, Emmanuel began experiencing some mysterious enlargement of his lymph nodes. After a couple of weeks of his body not responding to first, homeopathic treatment, and then, prescribed antibiotics and steroids, his father took him to the ER in Redding, CA. Emmanuel was almost immediately flown down to UC Davis Children’s Hospital, where he received a diagnosis of T-Cell Leukemia and an initial treatment plan of aggressive chemotherapy for 3-4 weeks, followed by 2+ years of outpatient treatment and monitoring. The doctors are optimistic that Manny can fight this, but he needs our help!
The Goffs are a single-income, homeschooling family currently without medical insurance. Emmanuel’s parents, Peter and Leslie, and his two siblings naturally want to be present with Emmanuel as much as possible, which means travel to and from his treatment center at UC Davis and time away from work for Peter. By God’s grace, the Goff family has been accepted into the Ronald McDonald program for the 3-4 weeks they are expecting to be at UC Davis, which does help relieve the immediate stress of extended hotel stays. However, Manny’s transport flight to Davis, hospital stay, and ongoing treatment will still be a major financial burden for this family.
Please join us in showing your support for Emmanuel by blessing the Goff family with any financial assistance you feel led to give. If you cannot give at this time, we ask that you please pray for financial provision, grace, and strength…and especially that his body will respond well to treatment so that he will not have to have a bone marrow transplant.
