5-50-500 Challenge
This challenge means something to me personally and so I wanted to invite people in and to ask them to help me be accountable and from that notion it grew into something else.
I decided to ride my Elliptigo bike (google it) Every Day In May and on my ride this morning I decided I wanted to go about 16 miles a day and make it to 500 miles in a month. At the end of this month I turn 51 so in this 5th month I am 50 and I am going 500 miles and so the 5-50-500 challenge was born and that is why I am asking for $5,505. Please help me get there.
I am a proud member of the Russian River Rotary Club and we give back both locally and globally and so I have chosen my club as the recipient of this challenge. I have spoken with the president of the club and we have chosen to give half of the proceeds to Rotary International to help stamp out polio in the world (we are almost there actually) and the other half of the proceeds the club will donate to Children's Humanitarian International which has built a school in Kenya. We will donate specifically to help send a child from El Molino High School in Forestville to Kenya for a 5 week study abroad program.
With your help, the money we raise in now will be put to good use immediately where it is needed most to eradicate polio and to help send a local child to Kenya for 5 weeks.
Thanks for listening and thank you for your donation no matter how large or small.
