“Please Help Our Beloved Dad Gordon Through His Medical Crisis”

Gordon Ellis is our beloved father, husband, and grandfather — husband to Lynn, father to Marc & Sharon, Jon, and Jo.

Gordon is a truly wonderful man who has been bravely battling pancreatic cancer for the past six years. Throughout everything, he has remained incredibly positive, strong, and full of hope. He is a real warrior.

Gordon has always loved his holidays, especially spending winters in Tenerife with Lynn to escape the cold weather in Darlington. The warm climate has always helped him feel better, and he and Lynn love exploring the island together, taking buses to local towns and villages — something Gordon really enjoys.

This year has been very different. Shortly after arriving in Tenerife in December, Gordon became seriously unwell with severe pneumonia and complications that required urgent hospital treatment. He remains in hospital and needs ongoing specialist care.

Unfortunately, his insurance company is currently refusing to cover his medical costs. We are actively challenging this decision, with both the insurance company and the British Embassy but in the meantime the bills are increasing every day. As a family, we have already paid over €40,000, and the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.

Gordon is kind, funny, and has a wonderful sense of humour. He means the world to us, and we are doing everything we can to support him. We are asking for any help, no matter how small, to support Gordon’s ongoing medical care while we fight this insurance dispute.
