Hello Family, Friends, Wrestlers, and Supporters.
My name is Randon Miranda, I am a California Native living full-time as a Resident Athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co. I started wrestling at the age of 9 years old. My father had wrestled in high school as well as my brother and that’s the time I started. The moment I stepped on the mat I fell in love and always kept wrestling at a high standard, to become an Olympic Champion. Throughout my elementary and middle school ages I traveled nationwide to the biggest tournaments the country had to offer with the help of my family, friends, supporters, and California USA Wrestling. With success, I continued wrestling through high school where I eventually became 1 of 5 wrestlers to become a National Champion in all three styles making me a Triple Crown Champion. After high school, I resided at Northern Michigan University where I then started training Greco Roman Wrestling and became a 3x World Team member where I had the opportunity to represent Team USA at the World Championships. Although I didn’t bring a medal back, I came back with lots of knowledge as well as more hunger and motivation to keep chasing for a World/Olympic Gold Medal.
In 2021 Despite COVID-19 Restrictions I was able to compete and won the US Open Championships as well placing at 3 international competitions. (Silver in Guatemala, Silver in Denmark, Gold in Egypt) Being the only Greco-Roman Wrestler in the country to do so
In 2022 at the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity to go to the Zagreb Open located in Zagreb, Croatia. I traveled to compete where I took 4th, followed by a 10-day training camp with Europe’s best wrestlers. In February I took the opportunity to go to the country Hungary and train with the Hungarian National team for a full 2 weeks. Following this training, I had the opportunity of competing again at the Pan Am Championships in Acapulco, Mexico where I finished 1st with Gold. As training kept, I finished the year strong with a 3rd place medal at the World Team trials. Qualifying me for 2023’s World team trials challenge tournament.
Since last year’s World Team Trials to today: I have been training full-time and living at the Olympic Training Center. I have been blessed with opportunities to learn and get help from many coaches in the country as well as international, World Medalist/Nonworld Medalist and Olympians/non-Olympians. Training is going great, and the opportunities are building, and the country knows I am capable of being #1 not only in the country but in the world. This brings great confidence to me as I look forward to this year so that 2024 is my year and I make my first Olympic Team and win my first Olympic Medal. I am tunnel-visioned and capable. I know, my coaches, the Olympic Training Center knows. The rest is up to me to handle, and I believe in myself. This year I plan to do as much training as possible in preparation for 2024, every donation will be going strictly to my travel expenses domestically and internationally.
Any donation will be great and extremely appreciated by myself and my family. No amount is too small as each amount is generous to us and a blessing for my future endeavors. If you are currently not in a position to donate, please share with friends or family members. Thank you and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Randon Miranda
