Hi, my name is Sanaiya (but I go by Naiya or Ashanti), and I’m fundraising for my sweet dog, Cairo.

On Sunday morning, Cairo was hit by a negligent driver inside my apartment complex, leaving him with a fractured pelvis. He is more than just a pet to me—he’s my child, my best friend, and my emotional support through so many difficult times. Watching him struggle in pain has been heartbreaking, and I am doing everything I can to get him the care he needs.

Cairo has been prescribed pain medication and is on strict bed rest for now, but surgery is highly recommended to give him the best chance at a full recovery. I was originally quoted $10,000 for the procedure here in Arizona, which is far beyond my means. Thankfully, I’ve found a clinic across the border where the cost is much lower, but payment is still required upfront, and I need help raising funds as soon as possible to get him there.

Without surgery, Cairo may heal with a permanent limp and ongoing pain. He has such a lively personality and an endless amount of love to give—seeing him unable to walk, run, or play like before has been incredibly difficult. I just moved to Phoenix two months ago with only him by my side, and this entire situation has been overwhelming both emotionally and financially.

Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward Cairo’s surgery and recovery. If you aren’t able to give, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. I’m trusting God and leaning on the kindness of others to help me give Cairo the healthy, happy life he deserves.
