Jason’s family
UPDATE 05/19/23: Jason was discharged from the hospital yesterday and he and Marla have settled in to a nearby hotel for next several weeks. The hotel provides a shuttle to the hospital for continued care and close monitoring. Jason is already looking better, he has been a trooper and he and Marla are overwhelmed by the kindness of others. It has been SUCH a blessing to use part of your donations to cover the expenses of the hotel and meals while being so far away from home. Please keep us in your prayers as we have a long way to go. Things are a little brighter though knowing our big brother Hubert Wayne (and his liver!) is with Jason in this journey.
Hi, I’m Dana - the best sister a guy could ever ask for. I have 3 brothers I love dearly and would do anything for them even though they aggravated me to no end growing up as brothers do. I find posting the photo of my baby brother with a hair cap helps though. I’m hoping it also catches your attention to read how you can help our family.
This week has been an extremely tough one for the Gore Family as we lost our oldest brother Hubert Wayne unexpectedly. Heartbroken is an understatement for how we are feeling. Hubert was an organ donor, and as of today we know of 5 lives he has saved. One is the life of our baby brother, Jason. Jason was on the transplant list and was direct gifted Hubert’s liver by Jessica and Scott, his two children. We are still in awe of God, the whole organ donation program, and how quickly everyone involved was able to get Jason’s testing and surgery successfully completed.
Jason has a long road in the healing process. The first being a month long hospitalization 2 hours from home. Once home, he will continue recovery for a few more months before being able to return to work. Jason is self-employed as a locksmith that travels extensively in ETX. Unfortunately as a small business owner he does not get paid when he doesn’t work. His wife Marla is a schoolteacher. The next few months are going to be extremely tough emotionally, physically, and financially. My hope is to be able to bring some relief financially by humbly asking for your donation. No amount is too small. If you are unable to donate please say a prayer, send kind words, consider becoming an organ donor, and/or share this GoFundMe. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
