We’re reaching out to ask for your support for Abby and her family. It’s been almost a year filled with heartache and unfortunately, the prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment plan continue to change in ways we never hoped for. Abby was initially diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that had metastasized to her liver. Since then, she has bravely endured countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, navigating the grueling landscape of medical appointments while trying to be the loving mother her children need.

Right now, their family is down to one income, relying on the kindness and generosity of others to help fill the gaps in their daily lives. As we approach the holidays, the weight of their struggle feels even heavier. Just when we thought there might be a glimmer of hope, we received the latest heartbreaking update: Abby will no longer be having her colon surgery because the cancer has spread to a spot on her spine, causing a fracture. Today, she learned that it may have also spread to her ribs. The fear of hearing those words—“We’re sorry, there’s nothing else we can do”—haunts her and her loved ones. But as long as that sentence remains unspoken, Abby continues to fight, summoning the strength to rise each day for her family.

We can help ease some of the burden on Abby's family by offering our support. With the kids back in school and the holidays fast approaching, it’s essential for Abby’s husband to be there for them during this incredibly challenging time. Abby's husband Keith is one of our carpenter-surveyors at BNB. Beyond being a hard worker, he is someone I care deeply for. He works extremely hard to keep our team moving. His wife Abby is a very loving & sincere wife and mother. I cannot even imagine the things this family has faced and it breaks my heart to see such a good family hit difficult times.
