On September 14th, Kristen had emergency abdominal surgery. After an extensive surgery, she had the majority of her intestines removed. Early on, the doctors were unsure what the outcome would be, leaving her kids, family and friends distraught and terrified.

Kristen now requires IV nutritional support due to a limited amount of intestinal absorption. As most of you know, Kristen has been a Type 1 diabetic since childhood; this adds another layer to her already complex situation. This has led to a surplus of unexpected bills as she adjusts to a completely new lifestyle.

There are a multitude of changes taking place such as nutritional support, home adjustments or moving costs, and pet care—just to name a few. We are incredibly grateful she has made it through this and is in good spirits. She is beyond strong.
