Save Salem

Hey everyone, my name is Cole. My girlfriend Katie and I added a ragdoll / Maine coon mixed kitten named Salem to our little family two years ago. He's an energetic, cheerful and snuggly cat who has truly enriched our lives. This week I noticed he wasn't his usual self and wasn't eating much so I took him to the vet, and after some examination they have found an obstruction in lower intestines which they haven't been able to get him to pass with fluids. He is going into surgery this afternoon and the estimated costs are going to be $3700 CAD before taxes.

As many of you reading this might know, Katie and myself were laid off for the majority of the COVID-19 pandemic and have only just got back on our feet and are working again as Ontario has started to reopen. We are struggling financially to scrape together the money to pay for this and can't in our hearts let our best friend die to something that can be fixed with a one time medical operation.

We realize that everyone has struggled during the pandemic, but if any of you out there have anything to give, it would mean the world to us and our favorite pet.
