Hi Friends and Family,

Our names are Mahala and Hayden Moran, otherwise known as Duncan's kids. As many of you know, our Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in June of 2023. Over the past 2 years, he has undergone various rounds of intense chemo treatments with the hope of shrinking the tumors.

Recently, we learned that the tumors have shrunk enough for surgery. While this is very good news, Dunc is in for an intensive surgery that requires at least 5 days in the hospital post-recovery and 6 weeks out of work. The surgery will take place on August 19th, 2025.

Now comes the reason for this GoFundMe. While our Dad has insurance (medical costs are mostly covered), transportation, lodging, and food are all expensive components of the trip out to the Mayo Clinic, combined with missing a chunk of work. It is very important to us that we are there for our dad during and after the operation, and getting him home safely.

We would appreciate any help that you all are willing to give.

As Dad said at the start of this chapter: “This shit ain’t getting rid of me that easy,” and he has proved that to be true time and time again.

With our fingers crossed, we are all hoping this surgery will lead to remission for our Dad and an end to this long road of treatments. To friends and family near and far, thank you very much for your consideration. It means more to our family than any of you could ever know!
